The kids bags are packed. There is excitement in the air. The same question over and over is being asked, "When are we leaving?" The time has come, I load the kids into the vehicle. Make sure I give them lots of hugs and kisses, and send them off with a smile. As soon as they are out of site, the tears come.

This is what happens EVERY TIME my children go somewhere, anywhere,with anyone, but ME!

Today my two oldest children are heading to a sheep show with their Grr-mamaw. (Dh's mom) I have been excited, yet dreading this day all week. I have a fear when they leave. The "what if" questions start. What if they are in a wreck? What if something happens? What if? What if? What if? I don't like feeling this way!

I have to remind myself that they are in the Lord's hands. He is watching over them.
And if the "what ifs" do happen, then it was planned already. I need to put my hope and trust in the Lord.


So, pray that I have peace this weekend, and that the boys have a great time!



"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5-6)

From The Grill

(I didn't have a pic. Let's hope this doesn't happen to us while we are trying out the new recipes)

Rosemary Chicken Grilled

2 (or more) cloves of garlic, chopped and minced (you can't go wrong with garlic)
1/3 teaspoon salt (I use sea salt)
2 tablespoons Olive Oil
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, minced ( you may use dry if you like)
1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts



Mix together garlic, salt, oil, lemon juice, and rosemary. Pour into a shallow pan. Add chicken. Coat both sides of chicken. Cover, let it marinate in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes. Take chicken from pan.

Grill chicken for 5-6 minutes,per side, over medium heat or until chicken is no longer pink in the middle.

You can serve this with rice, or grilled veggies!

Under the Weather

To all my readers,

I am sorry that I have not been posting much. I am still under the weather. Just when I think I am getting better, it hits harder!

Day old coffee?

This week my husband shared his cold with me. Sharing is a thing we teach our children to do, but a cold isn't something that I really want!

Every morning I get up before my hubby to get his lunch together, and to make coffee for him. Yesterday was no exception. I got up, made coffee, got his lunch together and after he left I went back to bed. Normally, I would have stayed up and had my coffee and quiet time. Because I was feeling so bad, I HAD to go back to bed. I had a busy day ahead of me. When I finally got up, I needed that coffee! I went to take the old coffee filter out, only to see that the coffee was dry. My poor husband got day old coffee. I guess I filled the filter and turned the coffee pot on, the burner warmed up the old coffee. FAIL! I asked DH what he thought about his coffee and he said that it was okay. He didn't think anything of it. EWWWWW

I found out today that little Alanna is going to have to have another surgery. The doctors will be in, hopefully tomorrow, to talk about all of the options. I don't know any other details. This breaks my heart!

I have been praying for Alanna and her family. I have also been praying that God show me how I can help to meet their needs. God has led me to set up this donation site to help defray their costs while Alanna is at the hospital.

While I was visiting them, I was thinking of a way to bless them. They are not a couple that will ask or say they need anything. They are amazingly strong in all that they are doing and going through.




So here is the fun part. My dear friend Charissa from Mimi's Babies and Robyn from Our Homeschool Home has offered a few things to give away.

Little Alanna

I have posted before about little Alanna. This post is to give you more information about what is going on and asking you to keep praying.



Yesterday I got go to see Alanna. Let me tell you, this was one of the hardest things to see.


Alanna had surgery last Wednesday. Since the surgery her recovery has been a roller coaster ride. Last weekend she started having seizure like movements. They now have her on medicine for that, and that in itself has sedated her more than she was. She is on an EEG machine to monitor all of her brain activity. To see if and when she is having the seizures. A plus from being on this machine is that they can tell she is responding to Daniel and Rebecca's voice.

Daniel and Rebecca are really feeling helpless. They feel that they can't do anything for her. They can't hold her, they can't feed her. I assured them that they are doing what they can. They sit and talk to her, and hold her hand. She squeezes their fingers in response. They sit and read to her! It's amazing to watch them with her. Every time they leave the room, they kiss her head and tell her that they love her. They are wore out! Emotionally drained.

Today Alanna had a bad day. Her blood pressure dropped really low. For now that is all I know. They have her stable. They are waiting on more tests and will make a decision on Monday as to whether they will have to go back in and put a shunt in her heart.

Would you help spread the word. Let's get a lot of people praying for this dear little girl. There is power in prayer!

Our home is full of the joy of children, three boys ages, 7, 5, and 3, and a little girl who is 1. I am a servant of God, I find joy in serving my family in many ways. I home school my children. My husband and I take time to make sure our children know the love of God.

This blog is our life. What things work, what things don't.To find joy in the roles that the Lord has given me. Lessons learned and sometimes you will even find funny story here and there. We want God to be glorified in all that we do. Each day is a new adventure! Even though days are tough,I am SO BLESSED and I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Get Dressed

How often do we get up and stay in our pj's or put on sweat pants and a baggy shirt. We get in the mind set of it's okay, we are home, no one sees us. But people do see us. Our children see. We teach them to get up and get dressed. What kind of example are we being if we don't do the same?

Do you really want to be in our pj's at 10:00am? What would you do if someone just happens to stop by? There have been many times when I would run to the bedroom because someone would show up to the house unannounced and I was dressed in my pj's. Not fun! I am too stressed about it to enjoy the fact that someone has stopped in to visit.

On the days that I do get up and get dressed, fix my hair, even put a little make-up on, I feel much better. Like I am ready to really take on the day. I need to be a good example for my kids, and if someone stops by to chat, I will be ready for them! :)

I know that the situation is different for everyone. I am not telling you a right or wrong thing to do, this is just an encouragement, and something that I have found that works for me.
