Pray for baby Alanna

I posted before about baby Alanna, I am asking you to pray. Little Alanna will be born tomorrow. This is an answer to prayer because a few weeks ago the doctors thought they were going to have deliver the her at 29 weeks. She is now full term. Praise the Lord.
The plan right now, is to deliver her via c-section at 9am tomorrow. They will then stabilize Alanna. On Monday, April 5th, when the she is 5 days old, she will undergo open heart surgery.
Please pray and thank you for your prayers!!
You can read about Alanna's condition here!

Pictures
We have had a few friends over the past few weeks. I had so much fun taking pictures of them. I love that the weather is getting warm and all the kids can play outside!
I have really been working on my photography. Kids can be tough get a good picture of when they are moving everywhere, but I prefer a natural picture over a staged one. Please tell me what you think! (I know not all of them are great :) But I still have fun!)
Enjoy the pictures.

The Toothfairy Fail
Zion has had a loose tooth for a while but he wouldn't let us pull it for him. On Monday morning he woke up and was a little sad and confused. He came to me with his tooth. He told me that while he was trying to fall asleep, he pulled his tooth out and put the it under his pillow. He didn't understand why the tooth fairy didn't come. You should have seen me. I was trying so hard not to laugh. He just didn't understand. He said he did all of the right things but she didn't come. I was trying to think of what I could do to make this all better. So, I (the tooth fairy) wrote him a note.

It says," Zion, I am sorry I didn't come the night you lost your tooth. I was so busy gathering lots of teeth from other boys and girls. I came again but you were not here. Leave your tooth under your pillow tonight and I will try to make it back. Love The Tooth Fairy"
When he saw the letter he was so happy, he had to write one back. I love how he is spelling everything phonically.

It says, "Thank you for the note. I am soree I wus not here. I left my tuth undr neeth my pelow
Love Zion."
"I left a paper undr neeth this ok. Thack you."
I had to keep rolling with this. I was having a great time! When I went to get his tooth I couldn't find it. (fail) That and he kept putting his hand under the pillow as I was trying to look. I don't know where it was so I just left it. I also responded to his letter.
"Zion, Thank you for your letter. I left the tooth for you to keep. Your tooth looks nice and clean. Remember to keep brushing your teeth. Love The Tooth Fairy"
So he got to keep his tooth and he got a quarter. I know, thinking back now it should have been more since the tooth fairy didn't stop the first night!
Theses letters and this story will be saved so when he is older we can take it out have a good laugh together! :)

My little date
Last week I got to spend a day this this young fellow. He was my date for the day. Or as he would say, "Not a date, a little date."
There are many times that I can get "too busy" but really it's not that, it's me. I get all involved in everything else that is going on around me and tend to ignore the little people in my life. Then I have a son who says things like like he said last week about me being the best mommy and it makes me cry. I do not feel that way at all. I feel far from that. How unfair to my children. Yes, I need to take care of the house, the laundry, the bills, running errands, and much more, and where are my children falling this my life? They need to know that mommy is here for them no matter what. They need to know that mommy loves them. They need to know how thankful I am for my blessings.
The one on one time is very important. It doesn't have to be a day out with mommy. It can be while they help you fold clothes, or taking walk down the road to get the mail, or even having a tickling match with them.
When I was on my date , I found out what kind of guitar he liked the most, why he likes to sleep in his brothers bed, and how much fun he had with just me!
What do you do for one on one time with your kids?

A pile of rocks

Our home school day didn't go as planned today, but I made the most of it.
My husband delivers drywall, he sent me a message telling me that he was going to be in our area. I jump at the chance to go watch my husband work. Not only for me, but for the kids. The first five minutes being at the site, the kids were amazed at watching their daddy work, so was I (wink wink) but then after that they were off playing. I still watched. (:o) Since this is a new house there were lots of rocks, and lots of dirt. Dirt piles everywhere. A kids playground. The boys would run up the top of the pile and slide down on their bottoms. Yes they were a muddy mess, but that didn't bother me at all. They were having fun.
As I was sitting and watching my handsome husband work, I was thinking about how I was going to make this day up for school. Then I had a thought! I had the boys come over and told them to get 3 big rocks and then 3 little rocks and throw them (they were doing this already) and then tell me what conclusion they came up with after doing so. I also told them to do the same thing but throw them in the puddle of water, and tell me the difference. Science! I just completed a science lesson with my kids, in the middle of a construction site! How cool is that!!

Bird Feeders
Spring is upon us. My flowers are starting to come up, the grass is turning green and the birds are coming back. I had been trying to think and think and think about a project that I could do with the kids for school. I am still new at homeschooling and I am not very creative. With our yard full of birds, what a better project than to make bird feeders. Our goal is to not only feed the birds but to see what kinds of birds we get.
We started out with bird feed,
water bottles (we recycled :) )
a knife,
a plate,
glue,
and wooden spoons.

We put 4 holes in the bottles, 2 on each side. Then slid a spoon through the top 2 holes. Then we glued the bottle onto the plate. )This didn't work like I thought it would. After our first rain the plates were on the ground.) Now the fun/messy part, fill the bottle with bird feed. A funnel will work best for this, we didn't have one so I made a funnel with a piece of paper. You will get bird feed on the floor! I had my amazing husband put a hole and wire through the lid for us. Then put the lid on the bottle and hung it where we could see it.

It has been two weeks since we hung the feeder and today we saw our first bird at the feeder.
(I am sorry it's a little blurry, I took the picture from the kitchen looking out the window. )

Friday Fail
I asked a friend the other day, if we have a machine to wash the clothes, and even one to dry the clothes, why don't we have one to fold the clothes?

Friday Fall (Fail)
I know it's Monday, but my fall (fail) happened Friday. I wish I could tell you I was doing something amazing and fell, but I didn't. I was sitting in the dining room chair and the chair broke and down I went. I guess what I did was braced my fall with my hand. After going to the doctor I found out that it is not broke but sprained and bruised really bad. I have to wear a brace for the next week so it will heal faster and better. Typing is tough and really slow right now, I am hoping to keep the posting up anyway.
So there you have it, my Friday Fail or huh Fall.

My Best Friend

I love my husband! I love that he is interested in what I am doing. In my hobby's. I love that he is so supportive. I love that he is the strong one. I love that he asks the hard questions. Even though I don't like those sometimes, I still love it. I love how hard he works for the family. I love how he stops to serve others in need. I love that I am his helpmate. I love how he doesn't judge me for crying over something simple and yet sometimes cries with me. I love how we can sit and laugh so hard over something that we can't talk.
God has truly blessed me with and amazing husband. I have seen so much spiritual growth in him in the 8 1/2 years that we have been married. I can't wait to see what the future is going to be like. He is my best friend.

Works for Me Wednesday

Breakfast on Sunday mornings are tough for me. Getting up and getting everyone ready to go, my house turns into a mad house. My poor family usually goes out the door without eating. Bad mom, I know right! Some say eat cereal, and yes we could do that but I am just not a big cereal fan. My family prefers something else too.
Thanks to Money Saving Mom, I have found a recipe that I LOVE and works.
Cinnamon Rolls
They are so easy, that I make them the night before, and all I have to so is cut them up and bake them on Sunday morning. When they are done I put them on a serving dish and then they are ready to eat as each person is ready for church. Everyone is happy and not starving by the lunch time. It is kind of embarrassing when you are sitting in church, and it gets really quiet, and your stomach growls. Everyone around you hears it but acts as if they didn't but you can see the grins on their faces, knowing full well they have. Now we don't have to worry about that.
You can click here for the recipe.
What do you do for breakfast on Sunday morning?
